Getting things together

Hi Everyone!

School ended a few days ago and only now am I starting to get things organized. I made a blind bag opening video and I still need to edit it and also make my voice louder (cause it was too quiet). It’s not the best video, but it’s my first so it’s not gonna be good… Any hoo, my sister got her new graphics tablet and she’ll sell her old one to me later and she’ll help me set that up. I’m going to start doing sketches to understand how to draw with the graphics tablet and then HOPEFULLY I can make some animations. I don’t have a very good mic (the only mic I have is the one attached to my headphones….) so I may sound horrible, but I’ll try.

I feel bad that everything is going so slow and how I’m not giving very many updates, but right now things have gotten hectic around here. My grandmother is sick, we have a lot of foster cats at the moment (but one of our foster kittens is getting adopted, so, yay!) and lots of work to be done around here.

I have a couple of ideas for webcomics, I don’t know if I can get them set up or not, but I’ll try. Right now all I need to do is get the information organized.

Have a nice summer, and I hope to post again soon!

Sincerely,

Anne Bell

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Wow…. just…wow…. a little bit ago my family and I got back from seeing “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and now….. now I’m just….. dude… if you haven’t seen it yet… THEN GO GO GO GO GO GO GO!! This was the best movie I have seen all YEAR… maybe ever! This truly is Marvels’ BEST film to date! Or at least in the top 3! I loved this film so much, I’ve got to see it again!

I won’t give away spoilers, but I just gotta say: a character I used to like, I now hate so much now. Seriously, the plot twists, there was one that surprised me so much I felt like I was slapped, punched, and got whiplash all at once. My head is STILL spinning a bit from the amazing emotional roller coaster I was just on!

Maggie and I both want to see it again and as I was leaving the theatre, for the first time I can remember, I felt… geeky… I was geeking out, my voice rose to a high pitch squeak of excitement and I was swinging my jacket around like it was supposed to be a sword. (sounds ridiculous now, but I’m telling you, I was super duper excited and it may happen to you when you see it!)

I certainly hope that every single one of you enjoy seeing this movie just as much as I did. I also want to warn you: While I didn’t cry outright, I did get very close and you may want to have some tissues in your pocket just in case.

One more thing: Watch until the very very very end of the credits, there are a BUNCH of Schwarmas (post credit scenes) and you’ll want to see them all!

Enjoy the Movie!

-Anne

P.S I’m still working on putting together animations, I still need to get a graphics tablet, I have a good list of stuff I also need, but it’ll be a bit, sorry for the delay.

Long Days, Trials and Errors, and more Obstacles, but the Guardians of the Galaxy have come to save the day

Hi Everyone! Well the weekend is over and school is back and I’m still waiting to be able to buy a graphics tablet, so for now, the animations are on hold, sadly. But tonight after school and chores, I’ll see if I can write up a good short story for you guys. I’m going to have to take a USB to rummage through my Computer upstairs’ files (and that’s a chore in itself since it keeps shutting down on me) and see what I can find in the way of stories and such. I’m sorry I have to keep neglecting this blog and I wish I had a bit more time, but I’ve got several papers due, multiple ones in separate classes, that are gonna be top priority.  On top of that we are now fostering 6 kittens and now have a total of 15 cats in the house, including our own 4. We’re hoping to get the ones that can be adopted their forever homes soon so we’ll have more space.

I’m really sorry, but here are some of the Trailers for the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”:

“I am so pumped up!” – Emmet, The Lego Movie (2014)

I am so excited, I even got the Milano vs. the Abelisk Lego set for the movie (and am saving up for the other two sets) and I really want to make a speed build video for it. That and I’ve collected a bunch of blind bags, blind boxes, and card decks and such so I can have a big opening video when school is finally out!

Again, I’m sorry for not posting all that much, but I’m going to try posting here more often if I can. Have a wonderful week everybody and hopefully I’ll be posting again very soon.

Auf Weidersehen! (That’s German for “Goodbye”)

-Anne Bell

I can’t think of a good title right now, sorry

All right folks, I know I planned to start to learn to do animations, but right now all plans are put on hold. Easter is on Sunday and I worked hard enough in school (please note: I’m in online school) that I managed to get today off and therefore means I’m free till Monday, yet there’s still a problem. I’m currently dealing with a cold right now and while I am better than I was, I am still sick. I’m going to try to learn more about animating but for now things are going to be going really really slowly and I’m sorry.

Have a nice week everybody, sorry to bother you with my problems, and Happy Easter!

Yours Truly,

Anne Bell

One Year Anniversary

I can’t believe this blog has been running for a year now! Wow! WordPress even sent me this:

1 Year Anniversary Achievement

Fun huh? Let’s take a look back at the very first post:

Hello there! My name is Anne Bell. You may already know my older sister, Margaret Bell and her blog “The Musings of a Magpie.” Here I’m going to share craft ideas (and attempt a few), books I love, good movies, stories I’ve written, and much more! I will also share news and updates about things I love, for example: Did you know that Demi Lavato (who did the pop version of “Let it Go” in Disney’s “Frozen”) will be doing a song for the upcoming “Angry Birds Movie?”

I love a good story and I also love telling one. I plan to write some fan-fictions for various fandoms I am apart of, like: Dreamworks, Disney, Harry Potter, and Angry birds, to name a few.

I hope you, the readers, enjoy my blog!

Sincerely, Anne Bell

Wow, I seemed excited for fan fiction didn’t I? Well maybe I didn’t get around to all that I wanted to, but as the school year comes to a close, maybe I actually can this time.

For now I just want to thank my followers and supporters who stick around even when I can’t be posting all that often, since without you, I’m not really anything. With that, what do YOU think I could do to make this blog better? Questions and Answers? More reviews? Any of your recommendations are welcome!

Now I have the perfect song for the occasion!

Thank you for sticking with me for an entire year and lets make this next one even better! Know a good book series I should try? Know some games that are fun? Recommend them! I’ll try to post reviews!

Your Friend,

Anne Bell

A New Year, the Loss of a Princess, and Several Movies I Forgot to Write About

Sorry I haven’t written in so long everyone! I hope you have a Happy New Year, and had a Merry Christmas, Hanukkah (let’s take a moment to appreciate spell check for helping me spell “Hanukkah”) and whatever holiday’s you may celebrate.

Sadly, last year took away many, many actors and people we adored on the big screen and in real life. Most recently was our dear Princess Leia and her mother Debbie Reynolds, who died a day after Carrie Fisher. Before them, we lost Leonard Cohen (the one who wrote one of my favorite songs “Hallelujah”), Charmian Carr, Gene Wilder, Kenny Baker (who played R2-D2 in the “Star Wars” films), Anton Yelchin (he played Chekov in the new “Star Trek” films), Prince, Nancy Reagan, Harper Lee, Joe Alaskey, Alan Rickman, and David Bowie among others. Many lost, especially Carrie Fisher, were major parts of our childhoods, and these memories we’ll keep.

On the brighter side of 2016, we got quite a few movies, some of which I’ve seen:

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”

Following Newton “Newt” Scamander, this movie takes you to New York City in the early 1900s where fantastical beasts escape the Englishman’s magic suitcase and wreak havoc upon New York.

“Sing”

Following optimistic Koala, Buster Moon, we get a musical of entertainment sure to put a smile on your face! with Tori Kelly, Reese Witherspoon, and Scarlett Johansen, to name a few, voicing lead characters and singing great songs, including an original sung by Scarlet, who voices teenage porcupine Ash.

“Trolls”

Okay, I don’t know if I mentioned it or not yet, but this adorable movie is sure to entertain the whole family! This movie follows happy Princess Poppy and grumpy Branch on a musical adventure to save their friends from the Burgens.

And that’s all, I haven’t seen “Rogue One” yet. Sorry for the short descriptions, I’m low on time and I don’t want to give off spoilers.

At first, this year was off to a bad start when our tortoiseshell cat, Ruby, ate string and had organ failure and was put to sleep. I’ll tell you her full story later, but for now it’ll have to wait.

On the plus side; “Supernatural” is confirmed for a 13th season AND I got swooped into a new fandom! This one is the American Anime: RWBY (pronounced “Ruby”)! Volume 1 of RWBY isn’t the best one, but now I’m on Volume 4 (and awaiting the next episode on Saturday) and I can tell you: it gets way better.

This is where I’ll end this post. Thank you for following me and thank you for your patience. Finals really took up most of my schedule (and my sanity) but now that finals are over I can relax a bit. Since I’m going to be playing lots of Minecraft soon, I might be able to share some pictures and maybe try to make blueprints, but I can’t promise too much.

Have a nice day everyone and, again, thank you for your patience!

-Anne Bell

Jonathan Young

At long last I have found the time to share 10 of my top favorite Jonathan Young songs! Please Enjoy! Soon I’ll be putting a review up for the new, awesomely fun, family-friendly movie “Trolls”!:

Son of Man – Tarzan

Poor Unfortunate Souls – The Little Mermaid

Prince Ali – Aladdin

Be Prepared – The Lion King

Hellfire – The Hunchback of Notre Dame

And number one on this list IS:

Phantom of the Opera

I’ll make another post featuring some of the best of “Google Translate Sings” and a post with my review of Dreamworks’ “Trolls” soon. I haven’t been able to because I’ve been stuck with a cold for the past week :p and had to change the title of my Nanowrimo book since the previous title was used for a different book.

Enjoy the Music everybody, subscribe to Jonathan Young if you want to hear more of his music, and goodbye for now!

-Anne Bell

Nanowrimo

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween! I’ll be posting more music when I can, but write – I mean RIGHT – now I have some really exciting news: I’ve joined National Writing Month! That’s right! I’ve joined in and now I’ll be trying to write a 50,000 word novel in just one month. I want to thank my sister Maggie for introducing me to Nanowrimo so I could have this opportunity to challenge myself and get myself out there.

For those writers out there, I think you might like this challenge. The site can be found here: Nanowrimo.org

Happy Writing to all those who join and good luck!

Annie

Hi everyone! I know I promised to share the Jonathan Young and Google Translate sings music soon, but today I just wanted to tell you a story about a friend of mine. Her name was Annie.

annie  I know that date says October 18th, but it was taken October 16th, six years ago today. That was the day she died.

Back in 2001, during Christmas time, my grandfather (whom we called Papa) and grandmother came to visit and with them they had Annie, a German Short hair Pointer. She had been abused, was from a puppy mill, and was very afraid of men. I was just over a year old at the time, not very big, and my parents didn’t know how she would react to being around me. While everyone was sitting around the kitchen table, mom reading “Harry Potter” aloud, I had apparently decided to go say “hello” to the new doggie.

My mom has paused for a moment when she heard a funny noise come from the other room; slurp, slurp, giggle, giggle… Curious, she and dad walked over to where Annie and I were. They were quite surprised by what they found. There was little me, tiny fist full of dog food, standing in front of Annie, stuffing my entire hand into her mouth as she gently licked the dog food out of my hand. I would bring my hand out of her mouth, covered in dog slobber, and she would chew the food and swallow it, then I would grab another handful and repeat. That’s when we decided that Annie would stay.

In the summer of 2002, Maria, Maggie, and I were playing on the playground in our backyard (this was when we had lived in Oregon) and Annie was at the base, just hanging out. After a few minutes, Maria tried to get down from the playground’s second story and Annie suddenly growled at her, basically telling her “no”. For several minutes she circled the base of the playground, growling with her fur standing on end. She only let us down when our mom called us inside. Now, our home in Oregon was known for it’s vast amount of wildlife: Deer, Elk, Bobcat, Mountain Lion, Beaver, Skunk, and more, so when our neighbor called our mother, saying that an animal had crossed the road in front of their house just a few minutes prior to the call, we weren’t too surprised. But we were shocked as to learn what it had been: a Mountain Lion. One out in the day time near people wasn’t too common, and it had been seen just around the time Annie had begun to growl and circle the playground. After that we knew that Annie was going to be our protector.

I forgot when this was, but Maggie and I were walking in our backyard with Annie (we were in the yard and near the house so we were safe) and it was early or late enough in the year that there was a small layer of snow on the ground. As we were walking along, Annie started to growl, I thought she was growling up the tree at a squirrel or raccoon or something. As I was looking up the tree, trying to see what it was, Maggie looked out across the field and in the far corner, saw a large black bear. Maggie didn’t waste a second: she grabbed my arm and ran back to the house. I only caught a glimpse of the menacing black bear as I flew behind Maggie in her mad dash to get back inside. Annie came in right after us and all we could say was “buh-buh-buh-bear!”. When my dad got home, he and Maggie went to the field where it was and saw that the tracks were fairly small so it wasn’t a very big bear, but the adrenaline made us exaggerate a bit.

Over the years we had more adventures: Annie getting stuck under the porch, Annie sitting on Maria’s new kitten Red, Annie killing and fetching Maggie and I that big dead mole or gopher thing (Mag rolled an old tire over it so the rodent was in the middle of the tire and then placed a board on top so Annie wouldn’t eat it till dad could bury it), but the biggest one that I remember would have to be the saddest one: Annie was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer was too far in to be able to save her, and in October of 2009, we were told that we were going to move to Minnesota, and Annie wouldn’t be able to come. She was in too much pain to make the trip.

On October 16th, 2010, after spending several years trying to sell our house, we finally did, but there was one more thing we had to do. Say goodbye. I don’t have the picture right now to show you, but I will tell you: I don’t know how I managed to smile in that last picture with Annie. I was nine years old, due to turn 10 on October 22nd in six days, and going to move the very next day from all that I called familiar. While my mom was gone, taking Annie to the vet’s to have her put to sleep (her cancer was so severe at the time: she had arthritis, she was in pain every time she walked… I even slept in the living room near where she slept so I could be with her the last few nights), my dad helped me find the supplies, two planks of wood and some paint, to build Annie a little cross. I painted it blue and purple, I believe, and I used a pencil to write the words “Annie, the best dog in the whole world” on it. When mom got back, we buried Annie next to where our old dog, a chihuahua named Molly who died of a stroke a few years back, was buried. We all said a prayer and I put flowers on the grave, and the next day I put more flowers on the grave right before I climbed into the moving van with my dad and then we left my old home forever.

I remember stopping by our old school to say goodbye to all our friends before we left, and everyone of them was so nice about what happened. I have to say: If I had known that I was going to lose Annie nearly ten years after meeting her, I would still have kept her. It doesn’t really matter how much time you spend with someone, what matters is the memories you make along the way. I’m never going to forget Annie because she was like a fuzzy sister to me (I actually called her that, and even pretended my birthday was hers too!). She my first rescue pet. I will always, always rescue and adopt my pets because I know that they deserve that second chance, like the one we gave Annie. I think everyone has had an Annie in their life: whether it was a parakeet you had as a kid, or that turtle you adopted a few years ago, there’s always going to be that one special pet in your life and you never know when you’re going to find them.

Sincerely,

Anne Bell

Big News in a Little Post

Sorry it’s been taking me a while to post! My mom’s not feeling well and I’ve been distracted with school work and helping take care of cats. Anyway, I’d like to ask if we have any “Lion King” fans in the audience tonight! A few? Okay, well then you’re in for a treat! Earlier today, the guy who made the Live action “Jungle Book” (you see where I’m getting at here?) has decided to remake another old movie. That’s RIGHT! It’s the LIVE. ACTION. LION KING!!!! Woo!! I don’t know what will happen, but if you remember; there were no humans in the first film. They may add one or two into the live action film (or as one girl hopes, make it entirely about humans in tribes or something, but then it wouldn’t be the LION king now would it?)  but we don’t know! We’re all hoping to have those awesome musical numbers in there (my favorites being “Be Prepared”, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, “Hakuna Matata” and “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” in no particular order) There’s even a second “Jungle Book” planned but it and the “Lion King” have no release dates yet. Read the full story here:

http://money.cnn.com/2016/09/28/media/lion-king-live-action-movie/

Hopefully I’ll finish the music posts soon, but it really depends on how hectic life gets.

A Week Done and Some Great Tunes, Part 1

Hi Everybody! I hope you enjoyed my last post about Pottermore, cause now I want to share something else I like. Music. Now, a while ago, I’m not sure when, before school started at least, I was looking up Piano music while trying to find out the name of this one song was and somehow I got a list of violin music. Curious and bored I looked through the list and I found one that sounded really cool. It was called “Crystallize”. As I listened to it I fell in love with the classical violin mixed with the newer dubstep (and I’m not normally a fan of dubstep at all). Thanks to Youtube I found more videos by the artist. You probably know her. It’s Lindsey Stirling. Now I want to learn to play the violin! 🙂

Here are some of her songs that I absolutely love along with songs by Jonathan Young and Malinda Kathleen Reese (google translate sings):

And my favorite Lindsey Stirling:

This is going to be a part 1, part 2 and part 3 series because otherwise this would be a really long post.

Don’t worry I’ll post again soon!

A new Pottermore Quiz and another result

Hello Everybody! Something new has come to Pottermore! Already you can find your Hogwarts house, Ilvermorny house, and your wand but now you can find something else; Your Patronus! That’s right! My mom and sisters took it before I did and these are their results: My mom got a calico cat, Maggie got a ginger cat, and Maria got a powerful Lynx! You know what I got? You’d almost expect the pattern to keep going; another cat, right? Wrong. Do you know what I got?

my-patronus

I got a grey squirrel!

I found a link here: https://www.quotev.com/story/3671161/Patronuses-and-Meanings/1

That states that:

Squirrel:
Squirrel people tend to be organized, thrifty, prepared for anything, and slightly obsessive. Squirrel medicine teaches the benefit of good planning, looking towards the future, and conservation. The squirrel is a symbol of delayed gratification, resourcefulness, agility, and foresight.

Well, as much fun as this was, I’m afraid it’s time for me to go. Until next time!

School: Week 1

Well, the first week of school went well and I am officially in the 10th grade! Since we started on Tuesday, the first full week starts tomorrow. I’m keeping up on my classes and I am going to try to get A’s and B’s (get a GPA of 3.5 or higher) both semesters so that way next year and the year after I can take the college-prep classes (I think they’re called PSEO) in Vet Tech so when I graduate I can have a two year degree under my belt. If you have the option of doing the same, I highly recommend taking it! Now, not all the time all the papers go through and you don’t get in, if that happens then you should contact the principle or someone who can help to make sure you get in.

Unlike most people, I’m actually in an Online School (I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned that before) called K12. It’s a really good system, and I’m in the MNVA part of it (that’s “Minnesota Virtual Academy”). With my school, we have online sessions we attend each day. Some are for our normal classes (in my case, history, math, literature, biology, finance and German) and some are for clubs (I just joined 3 of them out of the 4 I’m allowed, I’m currently awaiting the “Helping Hands Club” sign up to appear). They even have what they call “office hours”, which are the same as the normal sessions (called “class connects”) except they’re optional and in there you can talk to the teacher one-on-one to get the help you need in their class.

Yesterday was a good end to the week; it was my grandmother’s 80th birthday! We took her to quilt shops and antique stores and had a cheese cake for desert (I may be lactose intolerant, but I will always love cheesecake!).

Hopefully I’ll be writing again soon!

In Memory of an Actor Whom We All Knew

I don’t know if any of you have heard the news yet. My mom and I were shopping when she checked her phone for a moment and found out. A very good and great man, a role model, passed away. It was Gene Wilder. Now, he is most known for his role as the first (and in my personal opinion, best) Willy Wonka in “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” but he starred in so much else…

He played Jim in “Blazing Saddles” a movie my dad and I love to watch over and over again, he also played the Fox in “The Little Prince” (I’ve never seen the movie myself) and Dr. Frankenstein in “Young Frankenstein” and was in so, so much more.

I don’t think I’ve told you yet, but someday I plan on being an Actress myself. On the side, of course. I would have another job since I probably wouldn’t get as famous as Gene Wilder is, but still. Gene usually played an eccentric, but likeable character. He was a very good person and the kind of actor that I would want to be.

Gene Wilder was born in 1933 and died at age 83. It’s rumored that he died from complications from Alzheimers disease, but I’m not entirely certain. He actually founded Gilda’s Club, a club dedicated to finding the cure for ovarian cancer, after his wife Gilda Radner died of the cancer herself.

I even found a few songs from some of the movies he was in, not all of his songs most likely, just a few;

Psychedelic Boat Trip – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Closer (and closer and closer) – The Little Prince

And my personal, all time favorite of his:

Pure Imagination – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

There will never be another Gene Wilder. There are funny people, there are great actors and many of them will be a lot like him, but I don’t think we’ll get another like him.

#RIP #GeneWilder

Kubo and the Two Strings

Do you want to see a really good movie? Then you should see “Kubo and the Two Strings.”

“Kubo lives a quiet, normal life in a small shoreside village until a spirit from the past turns his life upside down by re-igniting an age-old vendetta. This causes all sorts of havoc as gods and monsters chase Kubo who, in order to survive, must locate a magical suit of armor once worn by his late father, a legendary Samurai warrior.” – IMDb description

“Kubo and the Two Strings” has been receiving an 89% from audiences, and it hasn’t been out very long. It mixes stop-motion animation and CGI and involves a magical tale and amazing origami. Among the amazing and detailed characters, I find that Monkey is my favorite one. Kubo and Beetle were also good but Monkey was my favorite. I loved how in the ending everyone was so kind to that man (that’s all I’m gonna tell you about the ending)

I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so I’m going to stop there, but before I end this post I have one more thing to say: Go see this movie! You won’t be disappointed!

Two Movies to See in Theatres

Hi Everybody! After a little research (I say ‘research’ I mean that my mom told me) that the “Suicide Squad”‘s bad reviews have been coming in from the CRITICS. The audience has been giving it much better review (in fact, on “Rotten Tomatoes” it has a 27% rating by critics and a 70% by audience) and so in light of this new information; we are now looking to go and see it. So basically, if the critics are giving it a bad review but the fans are saying it’s good, you may want to go see it.

Another movie  (that hasn’t come out yet) that I want to see is “Kubo and the Two Strings.” The “Rotten Tomatoes” critics are giving it a 90% and the audience has a 93% want-to-see-it rating. It looks like it’ll be good!

So if/when I see these movies, I’ll post a review on them! TTFN! Ta-ta-for-now!

More Adventures

Hi Everyone! Since “Suicide Squad” received many poor reviews my family and I decided to skip and wait for it to come out before seeing it, so yesterday we went ahead and had a girls day out at the Apache Mall and even stood in line for the opening of “H&M”! Mag and I each got a cute dress and Mag got a nice set of earrings. Mom got a couple of cute shirts and Maria got a nice T-shirt. Later we ate at the food court while waiting out one heck of a storm, the wind was blowing so hard it was causing WAVES in the rain filled parking lot.

But today my mom and I decided to help “Camp Companion” and spent most of the day with them. We even got to hold two 3-day-old kittens and mom helped feed them (I was folding blankets and color organizing them) and then we walked a 5-month-old Newfoundland mix puppy and I made a new friend in the form of a small mix bred puppy who just wanted to lick my hand and get petted with my other one. While it wasn’t how I planned the day to go, I think it went along really well (if not better).

With that said, I wanted to ask you for some help. I want to do more review posts and if you had any song artists (or just songs), movies, books or things of that nature you think I should try, tell me about them! Though I’m just letting you know I don’t like gory details (examples: “Survivors” by Erin Hunter or “The Hunger Games”) or rambling story-lines that get boring (examples: “Lord of the Flies”, “Our Town”, or “Seekers” by Erin Hunter).

The Secret Life of Pets

Well yesterday we decided to go and see “The Secret Life of Pets” and I must say: I truly enjoyed it. If you too are a pet owner, then you will enjoy it too! I can’t decide my favorite pet (Pops, Gidget, Duke, Max, and Chloe are all tied for my top favorite) but I can understand the pet’s behavior (Chloe sitting in the box, the chihuahua being nervous, the dogs sitting at the door waiting for their owners…). I’ve got to tell you that there IS SCHWARMA (a video or something after the first round of credits or something)!

This morning Maggie reminded me of Snowball’s backstory (a magician’s rabbit who the magician got rid of once magic went out of style) and then showed me the short film called “Presto” (we believe that is was shown before “Cars” or something) and how the rabbit in “Presto” bears an uncanny resemblance to Snowball. Coincidence? I’ll let you decide, here’s the short film “Presto”;

If that is Snowball, looks like he used to be called Alec, or Alex or something.

Suicide Squad

I love comic books and I like collecting old Marvel comics (I have a few from the 80s and 90s). Now, I will tell you, I was never majorly into DC, but I did like Batman, Robin, Wonder woman, and those characters (I don’t really like Superman, he’s great and all but not my favorite) and the upcoming DC movies either don’t look too bad (note: I said “upcoming”, “Batman vs. Superman” was terrible from what I’ve heard and it looked terrible in the trailers), I would love to see “Wonder woman” and the one with Aquaman since they look good (unless one of them gets an R rating which I don’t think they will) but there is a movie coming out very soon that I am very interested in seeing. “The Suicide Squad.” My favorite character is Harleen Quinzel or as I should say, Harley Quinn. From what I infer from the trailers she has a pretty tragic backstory.

Here are all the trailers:

My family and I are hoping to see it next week when it comes out. After the movie I’ll post a review, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’ll be as good as it sounds and looks!

Contralto

Hi you guys! If you’re like me, then you’ll probably have a hard time finding a song to sing. Why? Because if you’re like me, then you’re a contralto. What’s a contralto? “A contralto is a type of classical female singing voice whose vocal range is the lowest female voice type.”(definition from google) I have found that most Disney songs are generally sung by those with a higher voice range than what I can manage. There are a few songs compared to the thousands that I couldn’t possibly hope to sing in their original form. Among the songs that I recommend for contralto’s:

It’s actually easy to sing, surprisingly, because Ursula has a classic Contralto voice.

After looking it up, I found that these Disney songs are also able to be done in a contralto’s range:

(Lion King): Just can’t wait to be king (this song does hit some higher notes though)
Can you feel the love tonight (this is one of my favorites!)
Circle of life
My Lullaby (although there are higher notes and it’s raspy so be careful not to hurt your voice)
Be Prepared (note: this is done by a man, while it is a deep-voiced song it is also raspy, like “My Lullaby” and could hurt one’s voice)
Love will find a way
Hakuna Matata

(The Hunchback of Notre Dame):God Help the Outcasts
Hellfire

(The Princess and the Frog): Almost there (although that last note isn’t very easy for me)
Down in New Orleans (not Tiana’s version, that one hits high notes)
Dig a little deeper

(Cinderella): A dream is a wish your heart makes (Cinderella is actually the only contralto Disney princess I know, maybe Moana will be one too?)
Bibbidy Bobbity Boo
Sing Sweet Nightingale

(Pocahontas): Colours of the wind
Just around the Riverbend

(The Little Mermaid): Under the sea
Kiss the girl
Poor Unfortunate Souls

(Aladdin): A whole new world
Friend like me
Prince Ali

(Beauty and the Beast): Tale as old as time
Belle (reprise)

(Hercules): I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)

(Tangled): The Incantation song (maybe a little too high)
The glow – tangled
Mother knows best
mother knows best (reprise)
(That’s when my life begins and it’s reprise may be possible but they are both hit high notes)

(Brave): Touch the Sky

(The Nightmare before Christmas): Sally’s Song (granted it’s high, but it can be done with a head voice)

(Disney Fairies): Fly to your heart – Fairies
Gift of a friend – fairies
(Well, any song really, they all could work)

(Frozen): Let it go – Demi Lovato

(Jungle Book): Trust in Me

(Wicked): I’m not that Girl (okay it’s not really Disney)

(Mulan):Reflection

(for whatever reason people are trying to put AURORA and SNOW WHITE songs on the list along with ARIEL, those songs are higher and not very easily sung) Now I may’ve missed some songs and some of them here maybe a little harder to sing, but in general these are songs that we can sing.

While it’s nice being able to sing these songs, I want to see a Disney Princess who truely is, an alto. No not just able to hit low notes like Elsa, but actually sound like a dying beached whale (or scuttles) when they attempt the higher notes. It’s sad because whenever I google “(insert song title here) Alto” or “(insert song title here) Contralto” all I seem to get 99% of the time is SAX (like with the saxophone?) I want the original song but in lower keys not with a different instrument! I want to write Disney a letter asking for a cool Disney Princess (or at least CHARACTER) who isn’t a sidekick OR a villain that is an alto (and Cinderella only has 3 songs).

With that said, I just recommend singing whatever you like, just putting it into your range (like what I do for “When will my life begin?” and “Part of Your World”). Have fun singing and don’t let range stop you from singing a good song! (You CAN sing “Let it go”, you just need to alter it into your own range!) So keep singing everybody! (but be sure to warm up before singing huge songs and be careful not to hurt your voice, 20 minutes to 30 minutes of singing is the maximum amount of time before you’ll begin hurting your voice. Always remember: vocal cords are delicate so overuse and abuse can ruin them easily).

My Followers

I as just checking to see how many followers I had (I was curious) and found that I have 31 followers! I couldn’t believe it! When I saw that I felt that I needed to say thanks to all my followers! And I thought:

One-does-thank-you

And I wanted a good one to thank all of you:

oprathankyou

Because I wanted to say:

thank-you-you-rock.jpg

In a special way, a way that would make you smile and get what I mean, so I found this little meme:

ermahgerdthernks

I hope all of you smiled and laughed as I did when I saw that and I wanted to say thank you to my followers!

Yesterday’s Events

Hi Everybody! For those living in Minnesota, you may be familiar with the “Agate Festival.” Well, while normally each year my family leaves the day before the festival and goes up North to Moose Lake and camps out for the next 3 days or so, we couldn’t do that. We’ve got 11 cats right now and 6 of them are fosters that we CANNOT leave home, so we made it a day trip instead. We. Spent. Six. Hours. In. The. Car. I didn’t mind so much (and since I can finally read in the car without puking like I used to I was able to entertain myself) but after a while my legs were stiff from sitting still for so long.

While at a rest stop while I was walking our dog, Thor, I looked down at a patch of clover, and I just brushed some aside when I noticed an odd one. It was a four-leaf clover. We pressed it between some paper and put it in my sister’s book so we can keep it (Maggie told me today that a four-leaf clover is considered luck, in many places, because it is said that Eve had carried a four-leaved clover out of the Garden of Eden when she and Adam were banished and some believe the four-leaf clover represents the Grace of God).

That was just one highlight, the festival itself was pretty fun too. At the rock show Maggie, Maria and I all got a bunch of grab bags and got some pretty cool stuff in them and then we went to lunch (I now think I have an allergy to fast food burgers 😛). After lunch we went to the stampede,  and while I didn’t get a lot of Agates, I did help some little kids know what to look for and I myself got one nice one, a few small ones, and some cool ordinary rocks (though, sadly, found no quarters). After the stampede we began our trek home.

We WERE going to stop for dinner but we missed the exit to the agreed upon food place and just waited till we got home. But we did go to some antique stores! I even got 3 new comics! (In case you didn’t know, I collect old Marvel comics to read, I’ve got 11 now, one in poor condition, the rest in great condition, and that’s including the new ones). Then we went by an Aldi and picked up some Asian food and that was dinner (I was actually feeling sick when we went to bed and I even slept through a pretty good Thunderstorm!).

Have any of you read any good books lately? I’ve recently finished reading (I checked it out from my library once before but didn’t get to finish reading it) a book called “The Familiars” and it’s sequel “The Familiars:Secrets of the Crown” and they’re pretty good (I am Christian and I don’t really like the whole “cloud gods” thing that they mention but I ignore it. Something small like that won’t keep me from reading a good book since I do know they don’t even exist).

Well, this morning I was feeling a bit tired and a little depressed and my dad took my sister Maggie and I fishing. I cheered up a little, though we were catching some nice fish, it wasn’t until halfway through (or past that) that I managed to haul in a big fish. Now, I’m not going to be bragging or anything, but at first we thought it was a bass, it was fighting and fighting and just not letting go. When I got him out of the water, though, we saw that he wasn’t a bass. He wasn’t even a catfish. He was a bluegill. A big bluegill. He was the biggest bluegill I had ever caught (most big bluegills I’ve seen are taxidermied and hanging on  “Cabela’s” walls). He’s not as big as the trophies you’ll see at hunting and outdoor stores, but he’s a really nice one (dad was holding my pole at the time and he set the hook but gave my pole back to me).

Spirit Animals

Hi Everyone! A few friends of mine had told me about a book series called “Spirit Animals” and while at the library yesterday, I decided to pick up the first book. Boy I’m glad I did! The book is actually pretty fun. The first book is called “Wild Born”:

“In the world of Erdas, four children are about to discover if they have a spirit animal bond, a rare link between human and beast that gives great powers to both. Separated by vast distances, Conor, Abeke, Meilin, and Rollan each see a flash of light…and then the animals emerge.Wolf, leopard, panda, falcon. Each of the children has summoned a beast from legend. Now their fate is set. The four new heroes and their animals must band together on a dangerous quest. A dark force from the past is rising, and only they have the power to stop it. The fate of Erdas has fallen on the shoulders of these brave strangers… and on you” ~ Backcover of “Wild Born”

I won’t tell you much more since you should read them for yourselves, but I would recommend that you check out their site at scholastic.com/spiritanimals

They’ve even got a “School of Dragons” (I haven’t been able to play that game in ages) style game! I created Greencloak Eden Allguard, she’s a level one Rain Dancer and her spirit animal is a humongous Red Wolf named Destiny.

The Captain

Well readers, as you know, Captain has been letting us pet him, but now there’s more. He’s begun to purr. Captain even rolled over a little (not much, just a little bit) and let me rub his belly. All the time I was petting him and telling him I love him he was purring away, happy as can be. My dad believes that he was acting extra angry just because he was in pain. Later my mom is taking us to the library so I’m going to pick up a couple of books to read aloud to him to get him better used to people talking.

The Fourth of July!

Hello Everyone! Hopefully your 4th of July was as wonderful as mine was! We watched the fireworks with our aunt, uncle, other uncle, cousin, and grandmother and were all awestruck by the amazing fireworks (the grand finale was brilliant). We had a barbecue at our aunt and uncle’s house and played in the pool, and watched “Pirates! Band of Misfits!” (I didn’t really like the movie when I first saw it but after it came out on DVD and we watched it again I liked it more and more, it’s a good movie and I would recommend watching it). While in the pool my sister Maggie kindly taught me how to swim and I’m starting to be able to get it but I’m not perfect. I don’t know what the best part of yesterday was but it was definitely not the part where we got back home around 12:01 AM (and I fell asleep at 12:30 or so and woke up at around 7:15). So, again, I wish you all had a wonderful Fourth of July!

Ilvermorny

Hello Everybody! Do you remember that post I did about Pottermore and how I became a Griffindor? Well Pottermore came out with a new sorting hat quiz. The Ilvermorny house quiz. I live in North America, and actually close to where Ilvermorny is said to be (when does my letter get here? hmmm… must be lost in the mail…) so I was very excited when my older sister, Maggie, told me the quiz was there and she took it (I’ll let her be the one to tell you which house she calls “family”). The questions were actually fairly hard for me, the Hogwarts ones were somewhat easy but these ones had me stop a moment and think a little harder about them (although I do take a long while on quizzes such as these so I know which answer I know is what I would give). So after a few moments, I was told which house was mine:

thunderbird.png

I am a Thunderbird. I’ll tell you a little bit about my new family;

The Thunderbird house favours the adventurous souls (if I had the money I’d go on plenty of adventures, but I should probably finish school first). The house had been named by Chadwick Boot, the adoptive son to Irishwoman Isolt Sayre and muggle James Steward, the ones who started Ilvermorny. The Thunderbird can create storms as it flies through the air and is often said to represent the soul of a witch or wizard.

Now from what I infer, the Thunderbird house is the Ilvermorny equivalent of Griffindor (adventurous and brave often go hand-in-hand and also the gold and red colour scheme really adds to it). As for the other three, I am assuming that the Horned Serpent is the equivalent of Ravenclaw, the Wampus is the equivalent of Slitherin, and that the Pukwudgie house is equal to the Hufflepuff house. Although, that’s just what I think, I could be wrong and Wampus could be Hufflepuff, Thunderbird could be Slitherin, Horned Serpent could be Griffindor and Pukwudgie could be Ravenclaw, I don’t know for certain.

What’s your Ilvermorny house?

Animal Jam

Hi Everyone! Today I’m going to you about the online game “Animal Jam.”

“Animal Jam” is a fun, educational, and safe game and is filled with fun facts about animals. With plenty of fun games to play to earn gems for your animals and several fun areas to explore there’s always something fun and exciting to do. You can start by creating a free account and then creating your own little animal friend (or not so little).

When you start out you can choose between a wolf, a bunny (like I did), a tiger, a seal, a koala, a panda, a penguin, or a monkey. Then you’ll go through the process of naming the animal and then creating the account itself, don’t worry it shouldn’t take too long and, like I said, it’s completely free.

When your account is created and you’ve completed the tutorial you would probably want to explore Jamaa a little bit. When exploring you can find animals and plants and such that you can click on and the information is added to your Journey Book (this is located in the upper left corner, it’s the brown book with the gold “AJ” on it). If you find all the flora and fauna in one area (like the Kimbara Outback or Crystal Sands) then you’ll receive a super surprise (I’ve got most of them already, but I won’t tell you what they are).

Now if you don’t want to go exploring, maybe you should try earning a few gems to buy your new animal some cool stuff! (You can purchase clothing, furniture, new homes, and even pets for your animal!) If you go to the Jamaa Township and walk towards the lower left area, you’ll see a building with a sign with a game controller on it, that’s the arcade. If you go in there you can find a lot of games to earn gems in. My personal favorites are; Super Sort, Phantoms Treasure, Gem Ball, Eat ‘Em Up, Spider Zapper, and (my favorite of them all) Overflow. If you don’t want to walk all the way you could go to the upper left hand corner and near the Journey Book you’ll notice a game controller like the one on the arcade’s sign. If you click that, you’ll see a list of every game in Animal Jam (excluding special party games and games at the summer carnival that’s going on now).

Like how Webkinz had the “Deluxe Memberships”, Animal Jam has special Memberships. In order to become a member (not just have a free account like I do) you would either purchase one online and receive the code in an e-mail OR you could purchase a physical card in store (like I probably would). The full year membership’s cost $50 if you purchase it all right then and there OR you would pay $4.83 per month (which calculating; 4.83 x 12 = 57.96. So actually just purchasing it all at once would save you a few dollars. The $4.83 per month offer is only through the Animal Jam website itself, I believe) but there are a few different offers you should check out before deciding.

One last thing before I go: Did you know you can enter in codes to get special items? I have found a few myself that I’ve tested and found that they do work, here they are:

mega – 1000 gems
ajbday5 – Animal Jam 5th birthday cake
phantoms – 500 gems
llamas – 500 gems
arctic – 500 gems
birthday – 500 gems
NGKAJ17 – 500 gems

I have a few more that I plan on testing, but you can ONLY USE THESE CODES ONCE, so use them wisely! I’m only doing one at a time every so often so I don’t use them all up. I found these codes at this helpful site here: http://www.animaljamworld.com/

If you want to get something cute AND get a code for a special surprise (you could get  literally anything from these codes) then you might consider purchasing an Animal Jam Blind Box! I saw a bunch of them at my local Walmart and purchased the first one I picked up:

wp-1466962188980.jpg

(Yes, I drew a cheesy looking background behind it and no that isn’t a floating, smiling sea urchin that is the sun). When I opened it I found:

wp-1466962194596.jpg

A Sugar glider! She came with a yellow pet bowl and a purplish blue party hat and a code for 500 gems (don’t share the codes you get with these, I’ve heard people can hack your account that way and it’s just best to be safe than sorry). I’ve named her Splenda! (note: I’m not a fan of the sugar-substitute, I just thought it was a cute name for a Sugar Glider). I plan to pick two more up next time I’m at Walmart, I’m going to not open one and save it and I’ll just purchase them over time and maybe I’ll have a blind box opening video (I most likely wouldn’t talk but just have music playing instead).

Have fun!

Finding Dory

Hello Everyone! Well we just got back from seeing “Finding Dory” and let me say; I was rather surprised. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. It had the same look as the original “Finding Nemo” but it had more detail and better animation. The story was filled with laughs and awes and is definitely worth paying to see. I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say much more than this; you should see this no matter how old you are, my sisters and I all had seen “Finding Nemo” back in 2003 (I believe that was the first full movie I had seen in theatres) and we all got a bit nostalgic watching this. Also, letting you guys know, keep watching after the credits! There’s some schwarma!

But before the movie (or the adorable short film “Piper”) began, there were some pretty cool trailers; there was one for “Moana” but the one that really caught my eye was one for “Pete’s Dragon”. Now, I haven’t seen the original one completely, just bits and pieces, so I don’t know the original story besides of what I’ve read on the internet, but this seems very cool. The animation on the dragon is phenomenal. Normally you’ll get a tough-looking, giant scaly dragon, but here you get a dragon with what looks like fur. The characters, while they are changed some, generally are close to their original’s (from what I’ve read). I won’t say anymore, I’ll let you guys look it up for yourselves, but I will tell you that Bryce Dallas Howard (whom many of you may know as Claire from “Jurassic World”) will be playing Grace. Later I may try finding the original somewhere on Netflix and watch it, and then on August 12th I can go see the new one in theatres!

Well, I guess that’s all for now, I’ll hopefully be posting again soon!

A Day to Rest and a Day to Work

Hello Everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a little while, yesterday I was really not feeling good and just felt stoved up with a sore throat, runny nose, and a headache. Today I’m better though!

Since my last post we have taken in 3 new foster kittens (and if you’re wondering, Captain is doing very well and loves getting scratches under the chin… with a toothbrush…). We have called them Frenzy, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut. Frenzy is the little Tabby-and-white male, he’s kinder than the others and actually allows us to pet him a little bit. Ruffnut is the tiniest of them and is a grey-and-white female that is probably a vampire or at least under Satanic possession (she’s a mean one, she bit my mom’s finger and clawed my wrist really good). The last one is Tuffnut, a black-and-white, and we don’t know if it’s a male or female (though we’re pretty sure it’s female) but since it doesn’t let us pick it up we’ll have to wait a while. We’ve been joking that we’ll need salt, and candles and that Sam and Dean will get here soon with the rest of the supplies for the exorcism. Actually they are just feral kittens and just need to learn that we won’t hurt them.

But that was Monday (another Monday to remember….), yesterday I was sick on the couch so I got to watch Netflix all day. By all day I mean I watched three movies and one episode and had to pause one of the movies for a while while I finished the dishes. I got to watch “Road to El Dorado”, “Home”, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, and an episode of “Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated” called “In Fear of the Phantom.” So here are some mini reviews:

Road to El Dorado: “Two con-men (Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh) get hold of a map to the lost City of Gold, El Dorado. After stowing away onto one of the ships of the Spanish explorer Cortez, the pair escapes and eventually do find the city. There, a priest (Armand Assante) proclaims them to be gods in a scheme to win control of the city for himself. Meanwhile, they meet a beautiful girl (Rosie Perez) who helps them in their ruse.” (I just copied this description off google). “Road to El Dorado” is a Dreamworks film that came out March 31st, 2000 (this film is older than I am by a few months).  While personally, I wouldn’t watch it again immediately, it was a fairly good film and had some good laughs and I would probably watch it again in the future.

Home: When Earth is taken over by a friendly, dim-witted, and nomadic alien race known as the Boov, Gratuity “Tip” Tucci manages to avoid being captured and travels across the world with a fugitive Boov simply known as “Oh” who isn’t like the other Boov. Together they seek to find Tip’s mother and to fix a mistake that Oh has made. (That description I actually wrote myself). “Home” is also a Dreamworks film that was released into theatres on March 27th, 2015. This film is full of laughs and is definitely worth watching over and over.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Disney): “An animated Disney adventure follows disfigured Quasimodo (Tom Hulce), the bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, who bides his time locked away in a tower. With only gargoyles to keep him company, Quasimodo longs to be with other people, leading to his chance encounter with the enchanting Gypsy Esmeralda (Demi Moore). When the beautiful young woman catches the attention of Quasimodo’s guardian, sinister Frollo (Tony Jay), Quasimodo must help to keep her out of his clutches.” (as you can probably tell, I didn’t write this either. It came from google.) “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” is a Disney movie that came out June 21st, 1996 (I believe it celebrated it’s 20th anniversary just a few days ago). This film is actually somewhat dark and does contain mild bad language (such as using words like “damn” and “hell” and Esmeralda starts by saying “Son of a” but is cut off). The book itself, though, is much much darker and sadder and is definitely not meant for children. Though rumor has it that there is a live action “Esmeralda” movie being planned by Disney, but that’s just a rumor. One of my favorite songs (one I can actually sing) “God Help the Outcasts” is featured in this movie. But due to the darker themes in the film, very small children should probably not see it (it was nearly rated “PG”) but it is a good movie.

In Fear of the Phantom: While Velma’s favorite band is in town a mysterious person calling themselves “The Phantom” spreads terror and attempts to make this the bands last concert. This is the seventh of the “Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated” episodes and one of the few I like. I mainly like it because of the songs. I have very few SDMI episodes I like (I personally HATED the ending to the series, but oh well I’ll still watch a few episodes).

Well that’s it for now, tomorrow my sisters and I will get to go to the theatres, but we’ve got to clean up first. We don’t know what we’ll see yet but we’re hoping to see “The Jungle Book” (if it’s still in theatres, I’m not sure) or “Finding Dory” (personally I’d only look for the “Moana” trailers if there are any). You know, speaking of “Moana”, the trailer finally came out! Here it is!

Maggie and I can’t wait for it to come out!

Rise of the Guardians Review

Well, I finally decided to do my review on the “Rise of the Guardians” movie (I’m going to avoid using spoilers):

rise of the guardians movie cover.jpg

Image found at: http://www.wearemoviegeeks.com/2012/09/new-poster-for-the-mighty-rise-of-the-guardians/

So the movie follows legendary Jack Frost, an immortal 14-year-old boy with the powers of ice and snow, and how he goes on to help the Guardians in a battle against the rising boogeyman, Pitch Black, who threatens the memories, wonder, hopes and dreams of the children of the world.

This movie can be watched anytime of the year and not lose an ounce of magic. Every time I watch this movie, it kinda feels like I’ve never seen it before (even though I’ve watched it about 4 times already!). “Rise of the Guardians” is a movie for all ages with its lovable characters and it’s timeless story.

My older sister Maria’s favorite character is Bunnymund. E. Aster Bunnymund is a 6’1″ tall Pooka (a mythological rabbit) who’s also the Easter Bunny! He speaks with an Australian accent and carries two large boomerangs with him everywhere along with his exploding egg grenades. As the Guardian of Hope he leaves Easter Eggs behind for children to find on Easter day.

My favorite  Guardians would have to be Jack or Tooth (or Bunny or Sandy or North…). Jack is (according to “Guardians of Childhood” author William Joyce) a winter spirit, permanently frozen as a 14-year-old boy. He carries an oak wood staff (with a G-shaped hook at the end) with him to help spread his ice and snow wherever he rides the wind to (for those who have read the books, didn’t a certain character have a staff that had a similar G-shape at the end?).

Queen Toothiana, or better known as Tooth, is a half-humming bird, half-human (or, according to the books, half-sister of flight, half-human) who is none-other-than the Tooth Fairy! As the Guardian of Memories, she collects the world’s children’s teeth and places them in each child’s tooth boxes located at her Tooth Palace in Southern Asia. Usually surrounded by brightly colored Fairies, Tooth is always busy.

Then there is quiet little Sandy. Sandy is the Sandman and as the Guardian of Dreams he uses his bright, glowing gold dreamsand to give good dreams to the children of the world. Sandy never speaks (from what I’ve heard he’s quiet so as not to wake someone who is sleeping) but has plenty to say and uses dreamsand images above his head to let others know what he means.

The last of the Guardians, and the apparent leader, is Nicholas St. North or better known as, Santa Claus. As the Guardian of Wonder he leaves behind wonderful gifts on Christmas Eve for the children to open the next morning. He’s a little odd, but is a very kind man although loud. The 7′ tall Russian is usually found in his office eating cookies and designing new toys for Christmas.

Then there’s the Boogeyman. His name is Pitch Black. He’s tall, dark and frighting and has a great dislike for the Guardians. He spreads fear and darkness wherever he goes and is usually followed by his Nightmares, especially Onyx, the main Nightmare.

If someone were to ask me if this movie were worth watching, I would say “yes.” This is family friendly and will be watched for years to come. This beloved movie may’ve flopped in the box-office,but it definitely didn’t deserve it (heck, from what I’ve read, “Willie-Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”,  “The Wizard of oz”, “The Iron Giant”,and “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” did poorly too, but now look at them!). In fact I believe that “Wreck-it Ralph”, “Skyfall”, “Breaking Dawn”, and “Life of Pi” all came out around November 21st (along with a large number of other movies) so perhaps a majority people were preferring to see the other movies rather than the Guardians’ film.

Since it’s release this movie has gained in popularity, but because of the box-office flop it lost so much money that there most likely won’t be a sequel, making fans like me sad. But there is a petition; https://www.change.org/p/dreamworks-make-rotg2-we-need-you-to-believe-again. Since it asks for address and e-mail and things I don’t actually want to fill out, I thought I might as well SHARE it so the word gets spread! #ROTG2 #DreamworksmakeaROTG2

I’d also like to thank my friend K who persuaded me to watch the movie! (I was actually googling “Frozen” pictures for my Elsa costume last year and I came across one that was about Pitch Black talking to Jack about Elsa and Pitch mentioned what Jack did and then I asked my friends if they’ve seen the movie and that’s what started me on the “Rise of the Guardians” fandom train).

Well, enjoy the movie everyone!

Powerpuff Girls

So today my sisters and I finished our chores and decided to watch Netflix and I had the remote (they both knew I wouldn’t put on “Supernatural” for obvious reasons) and as the TV shows clicked by as I went through the selection my eyes rested on a TV show. It’s cover had a pink background and three girls, one in blue, one in pink, and one in green, and in big bold lettering it read “The Powerpuff Girls.”

I had never seen the original ones, I’ve seen ads for the new ones but I hadn’t seen the old one. Since Netflix didn’t have the ACTUAL first episode (and I couldn’t find the first episode of season one anyway) I decided to just start where Netflix did. My sisters and I laughed at a lot of the scenes and Maggie and I even went “Aww” when the Professor Utonium called the girls “My babies.” My sisters and I even laughed when, in that same episode, the monster was eating the children and spat them out, it later ate a old lady and I don’t remember if the monster spat her out or not (it was their faces and the unexpected twists that made us laugh).

We had to stop at one point because our dad wanted to watch something else, but I decided to read on about the new reboot and from what I hear, it left out quite a bit of what made the original series so funny and special. For one thing I hear Ms. Bellum (whom, I might add, seemed a bit like a motherly figure to the girls) isn’t even in there and neither are the Rowdyruff boys. I also hear that it deals more with personal problems like “Buttercup accidentally broke something of Bubbles’ and either a) didn’t tell her or b) made Bubbles cry and Buttercup needed to fix the problem by apologizing and fixing the thing she broke” and they would deal with said problem while the monster they fight is more like a side-adventure compared to the old series that has them solve the problem while on the battle-field or after the battle. I also hear they’re in the 2nd grade rather than in Kindergarten.

Anyhow, I’ll still watch the original one, my sister Maggie even said that my sisters and I were like the Powerpuff Girls. Maggie is the leader-like one, Maria is the tough one and I am the youngest, bubbly, somewhat naive one who loves animals (Maggie and Maria both love animals too, though). Course, the Powerpuff girls are 5-year-old triplets in Kindergarten (at least in the original series) and I am going onto 10th grade this year and am 15-years old while Maggie is 18 and Maria is 19 and both graduated from High School not long ago so, you know, there are some differences (I am also a brunette, not a blonde, though Mag says if I cut my hair or something my hair will lighten up again).

But while looking up the series, I found a game online called “Powerpuff Yourself” so I gave it a try:

Powerpuffme.jpg

(Fingers and nose not included) I thought it was fun, if you want to do it yourself, here’s the link; https://www.powerpuffyourself.com/#!/en/my-powerpuff/create

Well, have fun, and I hope I’ll be posting soon!

A Long Summer’s Day

Hi Everyone! I’m not sure if I had told you before, but we had been planning on changing Barbosa’s name to something else (we just thought it wouldn’t fit him) and so we found the perfect name for him: Captain. He is still learning that my family and I won’t hurt him (well it’s only been a few days). If you want to donate money to help pay for his surgery, then you can follow this link (TRIGGER WARNING: BLOOD AND IMAGES THAT MAY DISTURB SOME VIEWERS): https://www.razoo.com/us/story/Trapped

This day seemed, while it was rather fun visiting our friends, very long. Why? I didn’t sleep much. I had a nightmare there was a demon hiding in my room and I woke up at 1:00, 1:30, or 2:00 this morning and didn’t get back to sleep because of it. In other news I have decided to stop watching “Supernatural” for a little while (at least late at night while eating ice cream). Though the early morning rise did mean I got to watch the lightning show outside (though I didn’t hear any thunder) AND finish reading “Alice in Wonderland.”

Barbosa Lives!

Hello Everyone! Yes, you read correctly, he survived! He’s currently sitting in his kennel and not wanting anyone to touch him. Could you blame him? He was a feral for such long time, it’ll be hard for him to trust humans. Sadly, they did amputate the whole leg and they had to shave his fur because it was in really bad condition. He’s got the long rough road of recovery ahead of him, but my family and I will definitely help him along.

If you were wondering why it was taking me so long to post, it was because I was waiting until it was confirmed that Barbosa was coming to our house, which was yesterday, but then we had some thunderstorms so I decided to wait. I also have gotten into the series “Supernatural”, but it is rated TV-14 or something so it can be pretty scary at some parts.

Not an Ordinary Monday, a Monday to Remember

Hello Everyone! This weekend had been busy and very eventful. On Saturday my Grandmother, whom we all call Oma, moved into her new apartment and on Sunday I became one very proud little sister when I saw my two older sisters, Maggie and Maria, graduate from High School.

But Monday’s events may not have been as cheerful as that. I will tell you about how one of God’s beautiful creatures, may lose a life if not a limb.

The adventure began when our fellow volunteer asked us to help a cat in trouble. “What trouble?” You ask? It was caught in an illegal, rusty, old gopher trap. The kind that have the big teeth that tear into an animal’s leg. We quickly agreed to help. When we got to where the cat was we saw a beautiful black-and-white cat dragging it’s front left leg. I was purely and utterly disgusted that someone would put a trap like that out for animals. It took quite a bit of work and my mom, sister Maggie and I had to get a second trap since the first one was broken. When we got back the cat still didn’t come out. Instead it ran from us and got caught underneath some stuff. Another volunteer was called in. With collective work the cat was rescued and put into a carrier. I was horrified to see that the front left paw was nearly gone. The trap was clenched around the wrist bone. My mom drove the poor kitty to the pet emergency room while our friend drove us to our Oma’s apartment. I am currently nervously awaiting the news on the cat. If it survived the night, then they’ll have to amputate the entire front left leg. If it does well, and survives, then on Friday my family will pick it up and we will foster him. I have been researching ways on helping a cat overcome the loss of a limb. My sisters and I gave it the name of Barbosa. After the pirate from “Pirates of the Caribbean.” I continue to pray for the little cat and that he’ll do very well and overcome this. It’s reasons like this, that I love volunteering so much and working with Camp Companion.

Later we got to watch Dreamworks’ “Rise of the Guardians” and it’s actually a really good movie. But I think I’ll save my review for another time… I’ll try to post again soon!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day everybody! This is the day we take to remember those who died fighting in war or protecting our country. I have learned that it was originally called “Decoration Day” and people began celebrating it after the Civil War, but it didn’t become an official holiday until 1971. Back in the 1860s there were accounts of people gathering to hold tributes to the fallen soldiers.

You can find more information about this holiday here: http://www.history.com/topics/holidays/memorial-day-history

Happy Memorial Day!

Sorry for the Delay

Hi Everyone! I am SUPER sorry I haven’t been posting in a while! Things have been hectic here, but that’s to be expected with the finals coming up. But don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll post something better soon since “Rise of the Guardians” came in at my library, but we just haven’t gotten to watch it yet, but when we do I’ll post a review.

Sorry for such short post, but summer vacation’s almost here and that means I’ll get more chances to share more things with you guys! Maybe I’ll finally get a chance to write my fanfiction…

A Fangirl’s Review

WARNING! THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS TO “THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE!” CONTINUE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Alright everybody! My sisters, mom and I just got back from seeing “The Angry Birds Movie” and if you haven’t seen it…. drop whatever you are doing and GO GO GO!! You need to see this movie! It is brilliant, funny, and reminds my sisters and I of an old “Dreamworks” film! Another thing, I said I shipped Bomb and Matilda, remember that? Well the canon sunk that ship but through the ash and smoke rose another. It’s a big one, AND it’s official! Guess who I ship NOW….

It’s Terence and Matilda! The seemingly impossible IS possible! Turns out the Big Brother Bird has had a crush on the Certified Free Range Chicken for a little while! (Sorry Bomb, looks like you’re stuck playing the bridesmaid again)

Now, in this movie, you may’ve heard that Chuck steals the show. He didn’t in my opinion. Red OWNED this movie! We see that Red’s egg was in the lost and found and he PUNCHED his way out of his egg! Poor little Red was an orphan with gigantic eyebrows, and those were often rubbed in his face. Judge Peckinpah the pompous pathetic little jerk pointed out to Red that when Red moved away from the village, no one tried to stop him. An outcast his whole life. You know up until he saved all of the eggs and was welcomed back with a brand new home exactly like his old one (the only one of it’s kind), and while it took 5 years for him to build his home, it didn’t seem to take as long for the whole village to build his new one. He was welcomed into his home by a little song sung by the hatchlings, led by the troublesome trio, Jim, Jake and Jay and the song ended on a fabulous note sung by…. Terence! Turns out he has a great voice. Of course, at first I hadn’t noticed him, but Corporal Pig makes an appearance. You know those pigs, the ones playing the card game? When King Mudbeard told them to search for Red, the three pigs stuffed their cards wherever they could; one put them in his nose, one in his butt crack and the other… in his helmet. Stella, Hal, Bubbles, Willow, Dahlia and all the other feathered friends appeared too, while Gale could be seen at the “Early Bird Worms” place, Dahlia isn’t really noticed (at least I didn’t notice her) until they are rebuilding their home.

corporal pig.jpg

This movie was brilliant and is hilarious. You truly MUST see this movie! I want to see it again! I personally was rocking out to the songs like “Explode”, “I Will Survive”, and “Friends.”

Another thing, for those with “Angry Birds Action!” You have to click on the green pig in the corner and (keep watching the credits! There’s a little bit of a schwarma with the Blues!) when you see the image of the ship and the video with the lock on it and the “how?” button, click “next” and allow it to use your mic and leave it there, when the image pops up, you’ll unlock one FUNNY video!

With the way this movie was, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a sequel. I would love it if it included a certain female cardinal we all know and possibly the two cardinal eggs from “Hogs and Kisses” from “Angry Birds Seasons.” We’ll just have to wait and see!

Enjoy the movie!

The Flock Flies

Hello Readers! School’s been a little hectic for me lately since we’ve only got a week or so left until summer vacation! But that’s not what I’m here to talk about and that’s not what you’re here to hear about! Today was the release of “The Angry Birds Movie!!!” I haven’t seen it yet and I won’t till Sunday, but I’ll be sure to do a review! (Of course it may include spoilers, so I’m just warning you now)

From seeing Chuck, Red, Mighty Eagle, Bomb Bird, Terence, Matilda, Bubbles, Hal, Stella, Willow, Dahlia, and all the others in the trailers, I cannot WAIT to see this movie! I even heard that Big Brother Bird swoops the bosomy lady bird Matilda into a romantic dance. Of course I don’t think Terence and Matilda belong together, it should be Bomb and Matilda (what would their “shipping” name be? You’ve got Percabeth [Percy and Annabeth, Percy Jackson Series], Jilliam [Julia and William, Murdoch Mysteries], and Hiccstrid [Hiccup and Astrid, How to Train Your Dragon]).

With that said, I think I’m done for now. I’ll hopefully post again soon, but it’s not a guarantee!

More trailers

Hi you guys! Sorry I haven’t been posting for a little while, school’s been a bit hectic, but never-the-less we must trudge on. To bring smiles to your faces I have some exciting news. There are only 6 more days till the American release of “The Angry Birds Movie!” So while I was on the wiki I saw that Jim, Jake, and Jay’s voice actors where announced! They are Noah Schnapp,  Owen Wilder Vaccaro, and Pierce Gagnon as Jay, Jake and Jim (in that order). And now there is a new “Meet the birds” with the pinky, perky, energetic Stella!

Also, Charli XCX released the new song “Explode” and I can’t stop listening to it! The full version of “I Will Survive” was also released, here they are!

Maria and I KNEW the rock at the end of the ship had SOMETHING to do with the hole in Red’s house!

Was it me or was that pig that Red knocked off the scaffolding Mustache pig? Is that how he got that scratch over his eye?

Okay, how did he get THAT as a ringtone? ….Cause I want it.

I love how those two are like brothers! They are so sweet! I also love how they added the part about Bubbles smiling at times when he shouldn’t.

This is one of my favorites, Red is my spirit animal. 🙂

Well, sorry if you didn’t enjoy the long list but for those who did enjoy it; You’re welcome! I cannot wait for this movie to come out. I’ll (hopefully) post real soon! Bye for now!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Hello Everybody! I wish to you a happy mother’s day! This is the day that is made especially for mothers. I especially love my mother for cooking for us and helping us and always being there. She loves to rock out to rock n’ roll and sings along to old songs. She gave Maggie and I her hair and she always seems to find time for Maggie, Maria and I. She even takes us to see movies! Last night she took us to see “Captain America: Civil War” (I’ll tell you about that later) and geeks out with us (I, of course, go full fetched fangirling and practically squealing and/or sobbing at every sad/happy part while my mom and sisters do not). Why do you love your mom? (I mean besides the point that she’s your MOM.)

Sorry for the Delay!

Hi Everyone! Sorry for the delay in posting, I’ve been a little distracted lately with helping “Camp Companion” with their rummage sale!

Anyhow, I am pleased to let you know that I will be writing FANFICTION. That’s right! I am doing it about a game called “Avernum” (here’s the link: http://www.avernum.com/) and my big sister Maggie introduced me to it.

You see, one year (either for my birthday or Christmas) I got a game called “10,000 Best Games for Windows” and on the disk were literally hundreds of free games and game demos (one of the games was how you had to kill a bunch of “Barney” fans and if you killed enough you could watch Barney fall off of a high cliff! I could never win that game, sadly) and it has 3 games that caught our eyes; The Blades of Exiles. It was the first 3 demos for the first three games.

I kept dying and Maggie kept winning the first scenario (I don’t know how she did it) but couldn’t do the others since they required registration, which we didn’t have. In the years following I didn’t really play it as far as I remember. Well after we moved from Oregon to Minnesota and we had moved into our new home, I found the games on my computer and thought “What the heck? I think I’ll play this.” And my entire party got killed. I didn’t even get too far either! I was attacked by goblins or something. Anyhow, on and off I would play it but I never won, I never really understood the game and if I did get far I would forget about it and when I returned several months later it was like:

ihavenomemoryofthisplace2

So as you can probably tell: I died. Every time. Well Maggie eventually (this was a year or so ago, I don’t exactly remember when) found out that Spiderweb software (creators of Blades of Exiles) had recreated the game, despite having still-cheesy graphics, it was now no longer 2d with boring graphics and sound effects that are so loud they give you a heart attack but instead was 3d, the noise wasn’t too loud, AND the graphics are better! Maggie had been playing it for a while and eventually I went to the Avernum site and downloaded the demo (by that point Maggie bought the full version of the game), you know just to try it out right?

Yeah well I got sucked into the spiraling whirlpool of obsession and greatly enjoyed going to a nearby run-down fort and killing the monsters inside. While it was hard at first and several of my characters kept dying, I used the demo version of the Party Editor to revive them. I just sold the loot I got to shopkeepers in a nearby town and repeatied this over and over (this is a great way to get better at learning the game’s controls AND making money!) Eventually I got the nerve and traveled further North, but I could only go so far since, after all, I was unregistered (if I can find a screenshot of the funny “you must register” pop-up, I’ll be sure to share it). Well after a while of just wandering and killing monsters and getting quests that I could never hope to complete, Maggie gave me the full version.

I was never the same since. I played that game nearly the entire day, adding onto my journal (hand written one that I use to help keep track of what happens so I can use it in the fanfiction). By now I haven’t played the game in a while since I have had quite a bit of schoolwork to keep me distracted and by the time I get it done my head and eyes would hurt from staring at a computer screen for 6 hours (I’m in online school). Maggie’s been helpful by giving me plenty of good hints (mostly advice like “Don’t go there, you’ll die.” and “Well that was a stupid move.” and such things, aren’t sisters GREAT?).

Since I’m going to finish the story before I publish it (chapter by chapter, once a week, like my friend Micheal is doing) it’s going to be a while, but don’t worry! I’m a fast writer (and my sister is totally awesome at revising things, she’s helped me a little bit with my blog posts) so it hopefully won’t take too long to write, I’ve got the entire story planned out (even possible sequels, I need to learn to pace myself).

In other news, later today, after my sisters and I clean the house, we are going to go see a film we’ve been anticipating to see for a very long time: “Captain America: Civil War.” I’ve got my Avengers T-shirt and my Iron man and Vision dog tags set aside for when we go and see it!

In MORE news, only 13 days till “The Angry Birds Movie!” Thursday, after school, we went to Target and Maria and I both got “Angry Birds” dog tags and small packs of cards, one card I got was of a small red bird (Maria’s convinced it’s Terence, I kinda think it’s Red) punching their way out of the egg and another card shows the Blues parents, the mother is sitting on top of an egg and the father’s leaning against it as if trying to hear what’s inside. So this implies that unlike normal birds, twins and triplets share the same egg? (Well that AND the fact that these guys have “arms” basically, TV, electricity, houses, jobs, and can speak.) While with dog tags, Maria got one that was like a poster we’ve seen at Target and mine was of Bomb Bird exploding (since I had the one I wanted I gave the Red bird one to Maggie).

Well, with all that said, I have no more to say! I’ll try to post sooner next time, maybe even with the first chapter of my story! We’ll see how things go, bye!

Artwork

Hi everybody! I finally wrangled up a BUNCH of artwork I’ve done (not all of it of course, I haven’t found all of it yet) so I thought I’d share it with you guys! I hope you enjoy it!

wp-1462301461094.jpg

As you know, I am a Whovian. After Maggie had her surgery we watched a marathon of Doctor Who starting with season one and I just had to draw this!

wp-1462288763695.jpg

I call this “Widow’s Walk” and the dress is partially inspired by Charlotte Thornton’s (Nancy Drew: The Ghost of Thornton Hall).

wp-1462288758008.jpgwp-1462288769817.jpg

I tried copying the cover of this game I have and my mom said it looks a bit like a Picasso impressionist drawing

wp-1462288733077.jpgwp-1462288741450.jpgwp-1462288709021.jpg

wp-1462288717613.jpg

This was just me doodling around. (sorry for the blurry picture and don’t mind the scribble in that one corner)

And last, but not least, is the drawing I wanted to show my friend:

Queen toothiana

I did this with a reference photo off of Pinterest and a bunch of coloring pencils. She is Queen Toothiana from the movie “Rise of the Guardians” (2012) (I haven’t seen the movie yet but my friend likes it and recommended it, I plan to watch it just to see if I like it or not, I’ll let you guys know when I see it!)

Most of these were achieved by using a simple and cheap pen called “Le Pen” and I got mine (a black one) at Blicks a while back. I want to get some more since I love them (of course I’ll need a new sketch book, mine’s nearly filled up!)

Angry Birds

The countdown continues with only 17 more days till “The Angry Birds Movie!” So I had decided to look at the IMDb page to see if anything new was added so I could share that with you (and also things I probably didn’t mention before), so here’s what I found:

You know crazy aunt Lorraine from “Goosebumps?” The funny and awesome movie that came out a while ago? Well Jillian Bell (I love her last name! 😉 ) who played Lorraine, will be voicing Bobby’s mom! Apparently a Mine Bird and Cyrus (the bird with the continuous colds) will be voiced by Billy Eichner, who also does Philip (that bird that seems to mistake apples for apple phones) and Chef Pig. Hal and Bubbles voices were also announced; Anthony Padilla will be voicing the little orange candy-obsessed Bubbles! You may also know Ian Hecox, he’s going to be voicing Hal. Those two have both worked together a lot, seeing as how those two make up the duo called “Smosh.” I also have some confusion… It says that Young Red has two voice actors. As I’ve previously mentioned Kallan Holley is listed, but as is Aidan McGraw (you may know him from the “American Sniper” movie as Young Colton), so I am wondering how that’s going to work (maybe one of them is a singing voice? Maybe one is doing a very young Red and the other is doing an older Red? I guess I’ll have to wait 17 more days to find out!).

With that being said, I guess I have no more news for now! I need to get some pictures downloaded from my camera and then I can show you guys that art I did (I’ve done a lot…)

A story from a Nightmare

Dear Readers,

With only 19 full days till “The Angry Birds Movie” I am surprised there hasn’t been another trailer or clip (although glad, I don’t want to know TOO much about it 😉 ). So to keep you guys entertained I am sharing a story I began when I was 13 years old but revised every so often. It is actually a bit scary, so I am warning you, but I love this and I’ve shared this with my classmates and they love it (although I’m in 9th grade now, I was in 7th grade when I first shared it), so without further delay, here it is;

The Werewolf of the Harper’s Woods
By Anne Bell

Sarah walked hurriedly down the dirt road. Weeds crawled through the dirt and covered many parts of the ground. The moon shown bright overhead, casting long shadows of the bare trees along side the road. Sarah pulled her black cloak closer to her. This is what she gets for having stayed so long at the Johnson’s party. It was October 31st and she had no interest in staying out in the dark night, especially on this night. She had made a fatal decision to take the road through the Harper’s woods; it would take near an hour off her walk home.

Sarah knew of the legend surrounding these woods; everyone did. Some parents even forbade their children to go near these woods at night, especially this night. It is said that a family of harpers lived in these woods long ago, in a house deep within the trees and they would play beautiful music their harps day and night. One night, one of the children was bitten by a lone black wolf. The family had healed the hand and thought nothing more of it. Alas, as the legend goes on, it is told that the child under took a terrifying transformation. He had become… a wolf. No one ever heard of the family again. Some will say they moved away, leaving the wolf-child behind. Others say that the wolf killed them all, but no one truly knows for certain. All that is known is that someone or something stalks these woods at night in the light of the moon, and that if someone were to wander into these woods, they were never to come out alive.

Sarah’s bright red hair ruffled in the wind. She shivered, but not because of the cold. She was thinking of the legend when all of a sudden a gust of wind blew the cloak off her shoulders. Sarah gasped with surprise and began to run after it, at the same time retracing her steps. Eventually she stopped, it was no use getting it back, and she already had retraced her steps halfway. She sighed and turned around to go back when suddenly she stopped cold in her tracks. She heard something… a howl … a wolf howl.

Sarah looked up toward a nearby hillside, and turned pale with fear when she saw it. The full moon shone right behind it, a man… no, it was not any man. It had a long wolf-like tail, and shaggy brown fur. It raised its long muzzle and howled a sound that chilled Sarah to the bone. She recognizing the creature at sight she began to run, trying to escape unseen, but it was too late. It has seen her, and now began the chase.

Sarah’s long dark green dress ruffled around her feet as she ran, her red hair fell out of its bun. She could feel the hot sticky breath of the wolf; it was not far behind her. Its breath smelled of an animal, long since its death. All of a sudden, she could not smell it anymore; Sarah dared a glance behind her, and then began to slow. She turned to where the wolf had been, it was not there. Had it given up the chase? Sarah turned around to continue on her way only to freeze in her tracks.

Inches from her, stood the wolf on all four feet. Suddenly it stood on it’s hind legs, seven feet tall with long shaggy, mangy brown fur. Its eyes glistened blood red and its fangs were yellowed. It suddenly raised its head and howled. Then the beast began to lift one of its giant clawed hands. Sarah, frozen with fear, could not move. A scream escaped her lips as the wolf swung its claws, and Sarah Emma Smith became the next victim, of the werewolf of the Harper’s woods.

The End

This story is actually based off a nightmare I had after eating Strawberry ice cream while watching “Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban” (it used to scare me but now I love it and watch it purely for the thing that scared me in the first place: the werewolf). Of course I was in Sarah’s shoes in my dream. I have written a sequel to this about Sarah’s sister but I accidentally lost the complete version of that so I have to rewrite it :P.

Anyway, as a promise to my friend, I will collect artwork I’ve done and share it ASAP. I’ve done a lot, including impressionist (but even then it’s not as good) but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

Well, talk to you soon!

-Anne Bell

-Anne Bell (21 more day’s till “The Angry Birds Movie!” For those with “Angry Birds Action” installed on their devices; At the credits there will be a sound and when your phone hears it, you’ll get a special clip or something! Just keep the brightness setting below Sahara desert sunrise okay? And also keep it on mute, you don’t want to disturb others, but if you don’t feel comfortable doing this, I’m pretty sure SOMEONE’s going to be putting it on Youtube. I’m hoping that it has something to do with a possible sequel, possibly including a lady Red bird we fans have named, Ruby.)

Time to Take Action!

Dear Readers,

Earlier today, Rovio released it’s new game; “Angry Birds Action”. At first it was Maria who downloaded it, then I did. I love this game! It’s so fun! Although I’m wondering what happened to the part about the destruction, Red being blamed by Peckinpah the Pompous, Pint-sized owl thing, and how you had to search for photos to clear Red’s name. I have yet to find that, but perhaps you have to reach a certain level? I don’t know, but I did find a few more clips from the movie;

Well it looks like SOMEONE could use a hug… Not Terence of course. Terence want to kill Ross.

While looking up how the heck you even SPELLED Peckinpah’s name I learned the name of the sneezy, wheezy little birdy who’s shoulder’s he stood on AND who had sneezed into Red’s popcorn during Stella’s performance; Cyrus. He apparently has allergies, hence the constant colds. For more information (or lack thereof) here’s his wiki page: http://angrybirds.wikia.com/wiki/Cyrus

Anyhow, that’s all for now! Just think, there are 22 more days till this movie comes out! WOO HOO!!!!

Duolingo

Well, on Sunday, my sister had done it. She convinced me to download Duolingo. I am so glad I listened. I began by learning German, when I got to level 2 I decided (after I had watched “The Secret of Kells”) I would at Gaelic (or Irish, as they put it). I am currently a Level 1 in Irish with 30 XP and a Level 3 in German with 150 XP.  I have had so much fun and I am currently doing the casual (10 XP per day) style of learning.

If you want to learn a new language in a new, fun and free way, you should try out this app!

That’s all for now, hopefully soon I can post a story I wrote a while ago!

A song and a secret

Hi Everyone! We’re taking a slight break from the “Angry Birds Movie” and I’m going to do reviews for two movies:

Song of the sea titleThe Secret of Kells title

Images found at: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/song_of_the_sea_2014/ (song of the Sea) and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485601/ (the Secret of Kells)

Both were movies that are based in Ireland, although “The Secret of Kells” is set back in Ireland when the Book of Kells was being written compared to the “Song of the Sea” being placed in modern day Ireland.

“Song of the Sea” is about a young 6-year-old girl named Saoirse (but pronounced “Sirsha”, Irish is not my best language when it comes to spelling :P) who is a mute and her older brother Ben dislikes her. She takes his stuff and she has all the attention, plus she was born the day that … never mind, that’s a spoiler. (I’m not telling spoilers!) But after they go to live at their grandmother’s house in the city, the two run away to go back home, and along the way learn of Saoirse’s (the dictionary keeps wanting to put “sawhorse” instead of Saoirse) heritage and help the kingdom of the fairies and battle the Owl witch. The movie as a whole is beautiful and so is the ending. The ending was sad and happy at the same time. I was celebrating Easter at our friends house when we saw it. I came very close to crying and a few tears did escape my eyes. This is a movie that I would recommend to any family! (of course, if you can read Irish, then be careful, there is a bad word in there, but other than that it’s perfectly fine.)

Last night, as my family ate dinner, we saw that “The Secret of Kells” was on Netflix and decided to watch it. “The Secret of Kells” is about a 12-year-old boy named Brendan who’s uncle is the Abbot who is building a giant wall around the monastery they live in. Rather funny at some points, it does get very dark, and very sad. Of course it’s not gruesome, but people do get killed (but not shown on screen, so it’s safe for younger children to watch). When Brother Aidan (said “Eden”) comes to Kells with his white cat (with one blue eye, one green) named Pangur Ban and an ancient, uncompleted book, Brendan learns he must overcome his fears to help complete the book. He is aided by a white haired fairy he meets in the forest, her name is Aisling (pronounced, “Ashlyn” I believe) who has very fun eyebrows and was instantly my favorite character. Again, I won’t be spoiling anything, but it does have a wonderful ending and I would watch it again.

Here are the lyrics to the songs from the movies:

Song of the Sea:

[Gaelic:]
Idir ann is idir as
Idir thuaidh is idir theas
Idir thiar is idir thoir
Idir am is idir áit

Casann sí dhom
Amhrán na farraige
Suaimhneach nó ciúin
Ag cuardú go damanta
Mo ghrá

Idir gaoth is idir tonn
Idir tuilleadh is idir gann
Casann sí dhom
Amhrán na Farraige
Suaimhneach nó ciúin
Ag cuardú go damanta

Idir cósta, idir cléibh
Idir mé is idir mé féin
Tá mé i dtiúin

[English:]
Between the here, between the how
Between the north, between the south
Between the west, between the east
Between the time, between the place

From the shell
A song of the sea
Neither quiet nor calm
Searching for love again
Mo ghrá (My love)

Between the winds, between the waves
Between the sands, between the shore
From the shell
A song of the sea
Neither quiet nor calm
Searching for love again

Between the stones, between the storm
Between belief, between the sea
Tá mé i dtiúin (I am in tune)

Aisling’s song:

You must go where I cannot,
Pangur Bán ‘Pangur Bán’,
Níl sa saol seo ach ceo,
Is ní bheimid beo,
ach seal beag gearr.

Pangur Bán ‘Pangur Bán’,
Níl sa saol seo ach ceo,
Is ní bheimid beo,
ach seal beag gearr. You must go where I cannot,
Pangur Bán ‘
Pangur Bán’,
Níl sa saol seo ach ceo,

English Translation:

You must go where I can not,
Pangur Bán’ ‘Pangur Bán’,
There is nothing in this life but mist,
And we will only be alive,
for a short time.

Pangur Bán’ ‘Pangur Bán’,
There is nothing in this life but mist,
And we will only be alive,
for a short time.

You must go where I cannot,
Pangur Bán ‘Pangur Bán’,
There is nothing in this life but mist.

Another Angry update

Alright, I thought that I had covered everything new. But I missed this one (please forgive me).

A very cute father-son moment: http://www.eonline.com/news/758076/jason-sudeikis-gushes-over-watching-angry-birds-movie-with-son-otis

(here’s a better version of that video, their video wasn’t working for me)

Well, that’s all for now! (unless more news comes out, then I’ll update you as soon as I can 🙂 )

Have a wonderful Sunday everybody!

Angry Updates

Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven’t been updating you, yesterday was a long day for me, but as we did get to see that there are now “Angry Birds” trading cards and dog tags, Maria, Maggie and I all got dog tags, Maria and Maggie got some funny pigs on theirs and I got a shiny Red ” Angry is a Way of Life” tag. Maria and I also got some Angry Birds phone charms and we thought I was going to get Bomb (we felt the bag and we thought we felt the long feathers on top of his head) but instead I got King Pig (note;; these are ones from the game). I already had Corporal Pig and one of the blues. But anyhow, here are some of the new clips for “The Angry Birds Movie”:

I love Bomb’s comment. Also, why were the pigs sitting on blocks of TNT? They thought we wouldn’t notice, but we did.

Chuck isn’t my favorite, but he’s still funny. While at the bar though, that one bird has a crazy look on his face, what is that stuff MADE of?!

And now, as a bonus, here is the link to the “Angrify” site where you can post a picture of yourself, or pets, and put on a pair of Red’s signature Angry Eyebrows (I haven’t done it myself yet, but I hope to at some point)

Check it out! https://www.angrify.me/#!/

I hope to talk to all of you soon!

School and Busy Days

Hi Everyone! I’m really, really, sorry I haven’t been making that many posts lately! I’m busy working on school right now and doing various things and they’ve been dragging me from blogging. I’m really thankful that you, my followers, have been staying with me and I’ll try to make better posts soon. Perhaps after school’s out, perhaps before. I wish I could be more definitive. I really want to start to learn to animate so I can do little animations like Jaiden animations (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGwu0nbY2wSkW8N-cghnLpA) but I don’t know how that’ll turn out (I’m going to buy Maria’s old electronic sketchpad thingy [graphics tablet, sorry it left me for a moment] off of her and I’ll start practicing and see how it goes), and I also want to start drawing more and do posts on movies and stuff and possibly get involved with my community theatre!

It’s April and so I believe that the one year anniversary of “Spontaneous Deliberations of an Ordinary Girl” is coming up. I just checked and it looks like tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary! I’ll make a note to make a special post then (if I can get around to it and I hope to).

Thank you for your patience friends! I’ll try to be a bit more active on here!
