A New Year, the Loss of a Princess, and Several Movies I Forgot to Write About

Sorry I haven’t written in so long everyone! I hope you have a Happy New Year, and had a Merry Christmas, Hanukkah (let’s take a moment to appreciate spell check for helping me spell “Hanukkah”) and whatever holiday’s you may celebrate.

Sadly, last year took away many, many actors and people we adored on the big screen and in real life. Most recently was our dear Princess Leia and her mother Debbie Reynolds, who died a day after Carrie Fisher. Before them, we lost Leonard Cohen (the one who wrote one of my favorite songs “Hallelujah”), Charmian Carr, Gene Wilder, Kenny Baker (who played R2-D2 in the “Star Wars” films), Anton Yelchin (he played Chekov in the new “Star Trek” films), Prince, Nancy Reagan, Harper Lee, Joe Alaskey, Alan Rickman, and David Bowie among others. Many lost, especially Carrie Fisher, were major parts of our childhoods, and these memories we’ll keep.

On the brighter side of 2016, we got quite a few movies, some of which I’ve seen:

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”

Following Newton “Newt” Scamander, this movie takes you to New York City in the early 1900s where fantastical beasts escape the Englishman’s magic suitcase and wreak havoc upon New York.

Following optimistic Koala, Buster Moon, we get a musical of entertainment sure to put a smile on your face! with Tori Kelly, Reese Witherspoon, and Scarlett Johansen, to name a few, voicing lead characters and singing great songs, including an original sung by Scarlet, who voices teenage porcupine Ash.

Okay, I don’t know if I mentioned it or not yet, but this adorable movie is sure to entertain the whole family! This movie follows happy Princess Poppy and grumpy Branch on a musical adventure to save their friends from the Burgens.

And that’s all, I haven’t seen “Rogue One” yet. Sorry for the short descriptions, I’m low on time and I don’t want to give off spoilers.

At first, this year was off to a bad start when our tortoiseshell cat, Ruby, ate string and had organ failure and was put to sleep. I’ll tell you her full story later, but for now it’ll have to wait.

On the plus side; “Supernatural” is confirmed for a 13th season AND I got swooped into a new fandom! This one is the American Anime: RWBY (pronounced “Ruby”)! Volume 1 of RWBY isn’t the best one, but now I’m on Volume 4 (and awaiting the next episode on Saturday) and I can tell you: it gets way better.

This is where I’ll end this post. Thank you for following me and thank you for your patience. Finals really took up most of my schedule (and my sanity) but now that finals are over I can relax a bit. Since I’m going to be playing lots of Minecraft soon, I might be able to share some pictures and maybe try to make blueprints, but I can’t promise too much.

Have a nice day everyone and, again, thank you for your patience!
